Irish Friends' Fentanyl Poisoning Mix-Up Leads to Wrong Cremation
Two Irish friends died of fentanyl poisoning in Florida, and authorities mislabeled their remains, leading to a mix-up of their autopsies and the "highly probable" cremation of the wrong body. The men's families discovered the error three months after their deaths, realizing that one had been cremated and the other buried in the wrong family plot in Dublin. The mix-up occurred when their tags were crossed up in subsequent labeling, and the District Six Medical Examiner Office is investigating the situation. The man who allegedly sold the drugs has been arrested, and the case is under active criminal investigation.
