The search for the fourth missing boater was suspended after three dead boaters were found off Cape Ann, Massachusetts. The Coast Guard identified the deceased as Jia Fu Zheng, Daxiao Lin, and Jaime Liu. The missing boater was identified as Bin “Michael” Cai. All four boaters left Hampton Harbor in a 17-foot white center console boat, with a blue canopy and single outboard motor, around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning. The boat’s reported destination was fishing grounds near Jeffreys Ledge.

The US Coast Guard has suspended the search for a missing boater off the coast of Cape Ann, Massachusetts, after recovering the bodies of three people in the vicinity of an overturned vessel. The crew of four had left from Hampton Harbor, New Hampshire, on Wednesday morning in a 17-foot fishing boat. The Coast Guard searched for 27 hours and covered more than 1,567 square nautical miles. The water temperature in New England at this time of year dramatically reduces the survivability rate for anyone that enters the water.

Two boaters are missing and presumed drowned in a central Florida lake near Legoland after jumping in to save a woman who was struggling in the water. The third person was rescued by sheriff’s deputies, while the two men became separated from the boat and have not been seen since Saturday evening. The lake was rough with 20 mph winds and some whitecaps, and the weather issues were compounded by inexperience on the part of the boaters, who had rented the vessel for an outing that day. The search will continue using sonar and underwater drones until they are found.
