Oscar winner Daniel Kaluuya is set to star in and produce a live-action film adaptation of the children's TV show "Barney," which will focus on the trials and tribulations of being a thirtysomething and explore millennial angst. The film, described as "surrealistic" and "A24-type," aims to appeal to adults rather than children. Kaluuya wants to explore the heartbreaking aspects of Barney's message of love and friendship. Mattel Films, the production company behind the project, is also working on other film projects with notable names such as Lena Dunham, Tom Hanks, Jimmy Warden, and Ridley Scott.
