The Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array (ALMA) has observed seismic waves in BRI 1335-0417, the oldest and farthest known spiral galaxy, which is over 12 billion years old. These waves could provide insights into the early universe and the formation of galaxies like our Milky Way. Researchers noted the galaxy's rapid star formation rate and the presence of a bar-like structure that could influence gas movement and star formation. The findings, which help understand the evolution of early galaxies, were published in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
