Russian Surrender Hotline Experiences 70% Surge in Calls Following Nightingale Mi-8 Defection Operation
The successful execution of the Nightingale Mi-8 runaway special operation in Ukraine has led to a 70% surge in Russians calling Ukraine's surrender hotline, according to Ukrainian Main Intelligence Directorate spokesman Andriy Yusov. The "I want to live" hotline, which helps Russian servicemen who do not want to participate in Russian aggression surrender safely, has seen a significant increase in calls. The operation involved a Russian pilot defecting to Ukraine along with a Mi-8 helicopter loaded with components for combat aircraft. The pilot and his family are now in Ukraine, and the helicopter will join the Ukrainian fleet.
