The Cleveland Guardians are set to promote catcher Bo Naylor to the majors after designating veteran backstop Mike Zunino for assignment. Naylor, who is the younger brother of Guardians slugger Josh, has had a fantastic season in Triple-A so far this year. Zunino, who joined the Guardians over the offseason on a one-year deal worth $6 million, batted .177/.271/.306 in 42 games. The Guardians have two other players on their roster who have caught games this season: Cam Gallagher and David Fry.

Shane Bieber managed to keep the Yankees off the scoreboard for the next six innings after giving up two runs in the first inning. Guardians secure series win against Mariners in extra innings.

The Cleveland Guardians defeated the Seattle Mariners 6-5 in 10 innings, with Mike Zunino leading the way with a home run and two doubles. Cal Quantrill had an up-and-down season debut, but the Guardians bullpen was superb in relief. Myles Straw also had a solid game, walking twice and stealing a key base in the top of the ninth inning.
