Netflix ramps up game development partnerships for strategic growth.
Netflix plans to release 40 games this year and has 70 in development with its partners, with 16 games currently being developed by its in-house game studios. The streaming service is committed to building out its games portfolio and will be bringing Ustwo’s Monument Valley franchise to its platform, starting with Monument Valley 1 and Monument Valley 2. Netflix is primarily focused on mobile, but is working on its own cloud streaming technology. Mighty Quest: Rogue Palace, a rogue-lite game from Ubisoft, will be launching on April 18. Netflix is also working with Super Evil Megacorp on an exclusive game based on an upcoming Netflix release.
