Ball State University has appointed Mike Uremovich as its new head football coach, succeeding Mike Neu. Uremovich, previously the head coach at Butler University, brings extensive coaching experience across various levels, including FCS and FBS. At Butler, he led the team to three consecutive winning seasons and their first national ranking. Uremovich's appointment aims to revitalize Ball State's football program and strengthen its position in the Mid-American Conference.
The Mid-American Conference has voted to add UMass as a full member starting in 2025-26, marking the first full membership addition since 1998. UMass was previously a football-only member from 2012-15 but will now bring all sports to the conference. The move comes after UMass declined to leave the Atlantic 10, where it was a founding member. This decision leaves UConn as the last completely independent FBS program, with Army joining the American Athletic Conference this summer.
