Broadway Actors Face Attacks and Robberies in NYC
Actor Michael Stuhlbarg returned to the Broadway stage in "Patriots" after being allegedly attacked by a homeless man near Central Park. The 55-year-old "Boardwalk Empire" star was seen beaming during the curtain call at the Barrymore Theater, where he plays the role of Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky in a play about the rise of Vladimir Putin. The attack, which occurred less than 2 miles from where his "Boardwalk Empire" character was fatally shot, involved a homeless man with a lengthy rap sheet who allegedly struck Stuhlbarg with a rock. The suspect, Xavier Israel, has a history of random assaults in Central Park and was charged with assault following the incident.
