
Kidnapped NY woman killed in police shootout on Virginia interstate.
A woman abducted from New York was killed during a shootout between her alleged kidnapper, Michael C. Davis, and Virginia State Police. The police had attempted to stop Davis, who was driving a Jeep Cherokee with the wrong license plates, but he sped away and crashed into the woods. When troopers approached the Jeep, Davis began shooting at them, and police returned fire. The abducted woman, Tatiana David, died at the scene, while Davis was taken to the hospital for treatment. The two had a previous relationship and a child together.
