
Michigan Lacrosse Upsets No. 6 Cornell in OT to Advance in NCAA Tournament
The University of Michigan men's lacrosse team defeated the Cornell Big Red 15-14 in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament, securing their first-ever NCAA postseason win. Graduate student Peter Thompson scored the sudden-death overtime goal, while Michael Boehm set a program single-season goal record with three goals in the game. The Wolverines will advance to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA tournament and will take on the winner of No. 1 Duke versus Delaware on May 20.
