Surprising Results and Dominance at U.S. Nationals and World Champs Trials
Caeleb Dressel finishes third in the 50-meter butterfly at the U.S. nationals, failing to qualify for the world championships. Dressel, who won the event at the past two worlds, touched the wall in 23.35 seconds, behind winner Michael Andrew and runner-up Dare Rose. Despite the disappointment, Dressel has two more chances to make the U.S. team in the 100 fly and 50 freestyle. Other top swimmers are rooting for Dressel's success.
