A former Miami Heat security officer, Marcos Thomas Perez, was charged with stealing and selling over 100 stolen jerseys and memorabilia worth around $2 million, including a LeBron James jersey that sold for $3.7 million at auction. Perez, a retired police officer, accessed a secure memorabilia room to steal more than 400 items over three years, which he sold online and shipped across state lines.
A mother pushing a stroller was fatally run over by a dump truck in Miami's Edgewater neighborhood, while the baby was hospitalized. The incident occurred when the woman, the baby, and another pedestrian crossed in front of stopped traffic outside of the crosswalk. The truck driver, unable to see the pedestrians, drove forward and rolled over the woman, although missing the stroller. The driver is not expected to face charges, as surveillance video supported his account of the crash. The sudden death of Jacky Oh, a former cast member on "Wild 'N Out," has been ruled accidental by the Miami Police Department, with no criminal investigation planned. The cause of death was determined to be complications from cosmetic surgery. Oh underwent a gluteal augmentation procedure without complications but developed a headache afterward. She became unresponsive and was pronounced dead after being taken to the ER. Oh had been prescribed medication for pain relief and to prevent nausea and vomiting. She leaves behind three children and her partner, DC Young Fly.
