The upcoming multiplayer mode Fox Hunt for Metal Gear Solid Delta will not support crossplay across PS5, Xbox, and PC, and will be released later in the fall, sparking disappointment among fans who expect full cross-platform support for online games.
PlayStation's blog post indicates that "Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater" and "Silent Hill 2 Remake" are expected to release in 2024. Metal Gear Solid Delta is a remake of the classic Metal Gear Solid 3, set for PS5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC, and will not involve Hideo Kojima. The Silent Hill 2 remake is being developed by Bloober Team, which has stated the game is technically ready but not yet finished, with the release schedule dependent on partners.
PlayStation's promotional video has confirmed that "Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater" and "Silent Hill 2 Remake" will be released in 2024. Both are remakes of classic games, with Silent Hill 2 being developed by Bloober Team as a PS5 console exclusive (also available on PC), and Metal Gear Solid Delta being developed in Unreal Engine 5 and will be available on PlayStation, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. This announcement was made with little fanfare, despite the significance of the games.
