Tragic Loss: Pro Surfer Mikala Jones Remembered by Friends and Surfing Community
Mikala Jones, a 44-year-old surfer from Hawaii, passed away while surfing at a remote secret wave off the Mentawais. He had a deep cut on his leg and was losing a lot of blood after catching a wave. Despite efforts to save him, he did not survive. Jones was known for his love of surfing and searching for the perfect wave. He was described as a humble and giving person, loved by many in the surfing community. His death is another tragic loss for the tight-knit surfing community, following the recent deaths of Larry Haynes and Kalani David. Jones leaves behind a wife and three children.
