Qin Haiyang, a Chinese swimmer, broke the Asian record in the men's 100 breast at the 2023 World Aquatics Championships with a time of 57.69. He is now the second-fastest performer of all time in the event. Qin has broken the 58-second barrier three times this year, improving on his personal best. In the final, he was significantly faster on both his front and back halves compared to the semi-finals. Nic Fink, Nicolo Martinenghi, and Arno Kamminga tied for silver behind Qin.
