Prince Harry Triumphs in Landmark Phone Hacking Case
Prince Harry has won a lawsuit against Mirror Group Newspapers, with a UK judge ruling that his phone was likely hacked "to a modest extent" by the publisher. The Duke of Sussex has been awarded £140,600 ($179,658) in damages. The judge also found "extensive" phone hacking by Mirror Group Newspapers from 2006 to 2011. Harry, who joined other claimants in suing the publisher for alleged misuse of private information, stated that the ruling is vindicating and affirms the importance of a free and honest press. This is one of six lawsuits Harry is currently pursuing against British tabloids.
