"Controversy Surrounds Montgomery Whitewater Park: Bias and Unpaid Subcontractors"
MDG Contracting & Environmental Solutions has filed a lawsuit against the Montgomery County Community Cooperative District, alleging that the general contractor, JESCO, treated minority-owned subcontractors inappropriately and did not pay them for their work on the Montgomery Whitewater park. The lawsuit claims that JESCO mismanaged scheduling of the work, blamed resulting cost overruns on minority business enterprises, and used self-inflicted cost overruns as a pretext not to pay MDG and to scale back work performed by minority subcontractors. The district's lawyers are seeking a dismissal of the lawsuit.
