A mother and son died in Sullivan County, Indiana after their house was picked up by a tornado and slammed to the ground. Another man was also killed in the same county after being trapped in rubble under his home. In addition, a couple from Rossville died while camping at McCormick's Creek State Park when severe storms hit the area. The park and its campgrounds were flattened, and most of the RVs were destroyed. At least five people have died in Indiana due to the severe weather.

The victims were identified as Brett Kincaid, 53, and Wendy Kincaid, 47. Officials had warned campers to take shelter in the area, but the couple had not taken cover in park buildings when the storm hit. Several people camping there sought shelter in one of the park's bathhouses, which may have saved their lives as the campground area was "flattened."

Severe storms cause damage in Indiana and Tri-State area.

Severe storms, including suspected tornadoes, hit Indiana on Friday night and early Saturday, causing damage to buildings, downed trees and power lines, and power outages in several locations. McCormick's Creek State Park was "devastated," with much of the campground area reportedly "flattened." Emergency personnel searched the park for potentially injured campers and evacuated those located in the park with the help of Spencer-Owen County School Corporation buses. There were only minor injuries reported, and everyone was transported to Canyon Inn.
