Maverik, the chain of convenience stores, is reportedly planning to drop the Kum & Go name and replace it with the Maverik name after acquiring Kum & Go and its 400 stores last year. The rebranding is expected to take place sometime in 2025, although Maverik has not confirmed this yet.
Iowa convenience store chain Kum & Go has been officially sold to Salt Lake City-based corporation Maverik, completing a months-long acquisition. Maverik also acquired Solar Transport in the deal. While Maverik plans to rebrand some Kum & Go stores in Utah, Idaho, Colorado, and Wyoming, they intend to maintain the Kum & Go brand for the majority of their stores, including the 100 locations in Iowa. The Krause Group, the former owners of Kum & Go, will focus on local real estate projects and launching a professional soccer team.

Eldora's school district, which has been supported by Kum & Go for over two decades, hopes the convenience store chain's sale to Maverik won't affect their partnership. Kum & Go has donated significantly to the district, funding improvements to facilities such as the auditorium and gymnasium. While Kum & Go no longer has a presence in Eldora, the school hopes the company will continue to support their students if the sale is approved.

Maverik operates 380 gas station/convenience stores across 12 states, mainly in the West, and has a reputation for selling gourmet burritos, sandwiches, pizzas, subs, cookies, and coffee.
