Maverik acquires Kum & Go convenience stores and gas stations.
The Krause Group has agreed to sell Kum & Go, its Des Moines-based convenience store chain, to Salt Lake City-based Maverik. The deal takes an iconic Iowa brand out of the hands of the Krauses, the founding family who started the 400-store chain with a single location in the small town of Hampton in 1959. The companies did not share how much Maverik paid for the chain.
