"Google to Overhaul Chrome Extensions, Phasing Out Ad Blockers Next Week"
Google will begin disabling Manifest V2 extensions in Chrome starting June 2024, impacting content blockers and other extensions. Users will be notified and given a short period to re-enable these extensions before they are permanently disabled. Enterprise customers will have an additional year before the policy is fully deprecated. Firefox will continue to support Manifest V2, while most Chromium-based browsers will follow Google's lead.
