Beware of Malware-Laden Spoofed Video Meeting Scams
Threat actors are using fake websites mimicking popular video conferencing platforms like Zoom, Skype, and Google Meet to distribute malware targeting Android and Windows users, including Remote Access Trojans (RATs). The malicious sites, hosted on domains resembling legitimate ones, offer downloads for Android, iOS, and Windows apps, with the Windows download triggering the installation of a batch script that executes a PowerShell script to deliver the trojan. Additionally, a new malware called WogRAT is targeting Windows and Linux systems through a free online notepad platform, while financially motivated cybercriminals are conducting high-volume phishing campaigns to steal corporate credentials and deploy various malware families.
