A bear that was removed from a tree in downtown Roanoke has been euthanized by the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) due to being malnourished and unable to survive or be rehabilitated. Weighing only 35 pounds, the bear was determined to be around a year and a half old and was thought to be a cub initially.
