Governor-Elect Jeff Landry has appointed Major Robert Hodges, a 28-year veteran of the Louisiana State Police, as the new superintendent. Major Frank Besson will serve as the Chief of Staff. Landry also announced several promotions within the agency and plans to conduct a comprehensive review of the state police's operations. Additionally, Landry's office has formed a partnership with the New Orleans district attorney to enhance public safety in the city. Attorney General-elect Liz Murril will lead the prosecution of defendants arrested as a result of state police investigations in Orleans parish.
