"macOS 14.4 Update Causing Issues for Java Users on Apple Silicon Systems"
Oracle has warned Apple users to delay installing the macOS 14.4 Sonoma update due to issues that break Java on Apple silicon CPUs, affecting all Java versions from Java 8 to the latest early access builds of JDK 22. The update causes the Java process to terminate without warning on Macs with M1, M2, and M3 processors, with no available workarounds. Additionally, other reported issues include printer driver problems, file version loss, connectivity issues with USB hubs and monitors, and compatibility issues with PACE products.
