Nationals dominate Padres in back-to-back victories.
MacKenzie Gore pitched a strong game for the Washington Nationals against the San Diego Padres, striking out nine batters and setting a franchise record with six consecutive strikeouts to open the game. Despite struggling with efficiency and allowing a game-tying hit in the fifth inning, Gore kept his emotions in check and helped lead the Nationals to an 8-3 victory. The win was Washington's first series victory since late May and provided a much-needed boost of confidence for the struggling team.
