Sharks and Avalanche Swap Goalies in Multi-Player Trade
The San Jose Sharks traded goalie Mackenzie Blackwood to the Colorado Avalanche in a multi-player deal that also involved forwards Givani Smith and Nikolai Kovalenko, as well as several draft picks. Blackwood, who had been the Sharks' top goalie, joins the Avalanche, who are looking to strengthen their playoff position. In return, the Sharks receive struggling goalie Alexandar Georgiev and draft picks, with Colorado retaining part of Georgiev's salary. The trade comes ahead of the NHL trade deadline, as both teams adjust their rosters for the remainder of the season.
