San Francisco's Millennium Tower, a $350 million luxury building, continues to sink and tilt despite efforts to stabilize it. The tower has sunk 16 inches since its opening in 2009 and is currently leaning more than 29 inches at the northwest corner. The building's sinking has caused leaking and crumbling walls in the facility's below-ground parking garage. Engineers are now planning to secure the foundation of the building to 12 pilings sunk along Fremont Street that will bear the partial weight of the building load.
