Amanda Peet opens up about an early-stage breast cancer diagnosis amid family hospice heartbreak
In a New Yorker essay, Amanda Peet reveals she was diagnosed with early-stage, HER2-negative breast cancer last fall. She learned of the diagnosis during routine checkups as both of her parents were in hospice, with her father dying shortly after biopsy results. She underwent a lumpectomy and radiation (no chemotherapy or mastectomy) and had her first clean scan in January, all while navigating her mother’s final days and her own emotional journey.
