
Cardinals edge out Reds in close series split.
The Cincinnati Reds lost 2-1 to the St. Louis Cardinals in a pitchers duel at Great American Ball Park. Luke Weaver had his best start of the season, throwing 6.1 shutout innings with six strikeouts, while Lucas Sims struggled with control in the 8th inning, giving up two runs. Spencer Steer extended his hitting streak to eight games, but the Reds' offense couldn't come through with multiple opportunities. The Reds are still in last place in the division.
