Storms Cause Widespread Power Outages and Tree Damage in Louisville and Central Illinois
Severe storms with heavy rain and lightning moved through the Louisville region, causing tree damage and leaving thousands without power. Over 13,000 customers in Jefferson County and more than 1,200 customers in Southern Indiana are without power. The storms also impacted high school football games, with several being postponed until Saturday. Areas such as Arlington Court, Springview neighborhood, Highview, and the Oxmoor Country Club experienced extensive damage. Thunderstorm warnings were in effect, with wind speeds potentially reaching 70 mph and a chance for hail.
