Airbnb shifts focus to affordable room rentals and payment options.
Airbnb is refocusing on private rooms to offer more affordable alternatives to travelers as its average home prices have gone up by 36% since 2019. The company has added a dedicated search category for single-room rentals and is making some private features more prominent. More than 80% of private rooms are under $100/night, with an average rate of $67/night. Airbnb is also improving transparency about a guest's stay and turning its attention to improving the long-term stay experience.
