Fatal Capsizing on New York Cave Tour Boat
One person has died and 11 others were injured after a tour boat capsized during a cave tour along the Erie Canal in Lockport, New York. The boat was carrying 28 passengers and one staff member, all of whom were locals participating in a free tour for hospitality workers. The cause of the accident is believed to be a weight shift on the boat. Multiple agencies were called to the scene to search for the passengers in the water, and it took rescuers around an hour to rescue the 28 surviving passengers.
