Fatal boat accident during cave tour in Lockport, NY.

One person died and 11 others were injured after a tour boat capsized during a Lockport Cave & Underground tour along the Erie Canal in New York. The boat overturned around 11:20 am, and multiple agencies were called to the scene to search for passengers in the water. The individuals on board were all locals participating in a free tour for hospitality workers. Sixteen people were rescued by boat, and the rest of the passengers walked out of the cave themselves. The cause of the accident was a weight shift on the boat, according to law enforcement officials.
