The 2025 Booker Prize longlist features 13 titles from around the world, including debut authors and one-word titles, selected from over 150 submissions, highlighting diverse international voices in fiction.
Percival Everett and Samantha Harvey are the leading contenders for the 2024 Booker Prize, with Everett's novel "James" and Harvey's "Orbital" both receiving 2/1 odds from bookmakers. "James" reimagines "Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" from Jim's perspective, while "Orbital" follows astronauts on the ISS. Rachel Kushner, Anne Michaels, Charlotte Wood, and Yael van der Wouden are also shortlisted. The winner will be announced on Tuesday evening, and a "Booker Library" pop-up will open at Waterstones' Piccadilly branch on Wednesday.
