
Disney Animation Legend Roger Allers Dies at 76, Shaping The Lion King's Legacy
Roger Allers, longtime Disney writer and co-director of the 1994 animated classic The Lion King, has died at 76, with the death confirmed by veteran visual effects supervisor Dave Bossert on Facebook. A pillar of Disney's animation renaissance, Allers also directed Open Season and contributed to Aladdin, The Emperor's New Groove, Brother Bear, and The Lion King 1 1/2, with tributes from Bob Iger praising his storytelling.
