Apple Enhances Linux Container Support on Macs
Apple has introduced an open-source containerization framework called Container, optimized for Apple Silicon Macs and integrated into MacOS 26, enabling lightweight, secure Linux containers with native performance, primarily aimed at developers working on Linux projects. The framework uses lightweight VMs based on Kata Containers, with improvements expected in network handling in future MacOS updates.
