Israeli parliament voted to overturn parts of a 2005 law that made Jewish settlements in the Gaza Strip and parts of the northern West Bank illegal, reflecting the power of the settler movement in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government. The move was supported by far-right Israeli lawmaker Limor Son Har-Melech, who was once forced out of her home during the country's disengagement from the Gaza Strip.
