Billy Steinberg, Mastermind Behind 'Like a Virgin,' Dies at 75
Billy Steinberg, the songwriter behind Madonna’s 'Like a Virgin' and other 1980s hits such as 'True Colors' and 'Alone,' died at 75 in Brentwood from cancer. He collaborated with Tom Kelly to write a string of No. 1s, earned a Grammy for Celine Dion’s 'Falling Into You,' and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2011. He is survived by his wife Trina and his sons Ezra and Max.
