Bellator's Usman Nurmagomedov Suspended 6 Months for Failed Drug Test
Bellator lightweight champion Usman Nurmagomedov has been suspended for six months and fined $50,000 after testing positive for a prohibited substance. He has been removed from the Bellator Lightweight World Grand Prix, but will not be stripped of his title. Nurmagomedov's tournament win has been overturned to a no contest. His manager claims he was using a prescription medication that contained a banned substance in California, and Nurmagomedov will now enroll with the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA). It is unclear who will replace him in the tournament.
