Unveiling the Mysteries of Rauru's Seal, Shrines, and Lightroots in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
The director and producer of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Hidemaro Fujibayashi and Eiji Aonuma, have revealed details about Rauru's seal on Ganondorf, the appearance of shrines and Lightroots, and the state of Hyrule Castle in the game. Rauru's seal purified Ganondorf's magic, and the spiral of light represents the released purified magic. The shrines were built before Hyrule was founded to prevent the reappearance of evil beings, and bathing in their power cleanses Link of demon magic. The Lightroots serve as talismans against demons. The shrine names in the game are taken from places in Kyoto, and the team aimed to create a sense of discovery and exploration for players.
