A good Samaritan who saved a young couple from being assaulted by a mob during Chicago's "Teen Takeover" has criticized Mayor Lori Lightfoot for downplaying the violence. Lenora Dennis, who intervened to defend the couple, likened the scene to a "war scene" and called on community leaders, police, and parents to act together to prevent such incidents from happening again. While Mayor Lightfoot argued that the majority of young people came downtown to enjoy the city, Dennis disagreed, saying that the situation was "mayhem."
