Players of Lego 2K Drive have reported losing their progress when playing offline and then reconnecting to the game's servers. The issue has been confirmed by VGC, with some players losing up to 10 hours of progress. A 2K spokesperson has said they are investigating the issue. The problem occurs when the game is played in Career Mode and the player is disconnected from the servers without being notified. Upon reconnecting, the game syncs with the cloud save and rolls back progress to the last time the player was online. The issue has been reported by pre-order customers playing the game in early access mode.

LEGO 2K Drive will offer seasonal content without a time limit, similar to Halo Infinite's live service model. The game will be supported across four seasons of content in a Drive Pass, with free and premium tiers available. Unlike a typical Battle Pass, players don't need to reach the top rank by a certain date. The first season begins in June, and each of the four will add new challenges to complete across 100 tiers. A set of free rewards will rotate from season to season, and the Premium Drive Pass hands players even more rewards like cars from Dodge and Nissan.
