Twitter has not yet removed blue ticks from legacy verified users despite Elon Musk's announcement that they would be removed unless they paid for Twitter Blue. Musk has only removed the blue tick from the New York Times account, which refused to pay for the service. Twitter has removed the information that differentiated between legacy verified accounts and Twitter Blue subscribers. Musk also announced that Twitter would add a verified date to a user's account, but this would only apply to subscribers.
