"Nintendo Sues Yuzu Emulator Creators for Facilitating Colossal Piracy"
Nintendo is suing the creators of the Yuzu emulator, alleging that the emulator was used to enable over one million illegal downloads of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom before its official release on the Switch. The lawsuit claims that the emulator allows users to unlawfully decrypt and play Nintendo Switch games, circumventing protective measures against piracy. Nintendo is seeking $150,000 in damages for each copyrighted work, as well as any profits gained from the violations. This is not the first time Nintendo has taken legal action against emulator creators, having previously won lawsuits against ROM-hosting websites for copyright infringement.
