MLB Umpire Larry Vanover Recovering After Being Hit by Relay Throw
MLB umpire Larry Vanover has been released from the hospital two days after being hit in the head by an errant throw during the New York Yankees-Cleveland Guardians game. Vanover will not return to his umpiring duties until he is cleared by the league. The incident occurred in the top of the fifth inning when Guardians shortstop Andrés Giménez accidentally struck and knocked over Vanover while attempting to make a throw to home.
