Alabama's CFP Snub Sparks Debate Over Strength of Schedule
Alabama's athletic director Greg Byrne expressed disappointment over the College Football Playoff committee's decision to exclude the Crimson Tide from the 12-team field, despite their challenging schedule. Alabama, ranked 11th, was left out in favor of No. 10 SMU, which secured the final at-large bid. Byrne plans to reassess Alabama's non-conference scheduling strategy. Meanwhile, Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin criticized the committee's emphasis on strength of schedule, questioning the decision to include SMU over Alabama. Alabama will now face Michigan in the ReliaQuest Bowl.
