MTSU Hands Kellie Harper First In-State Loss with 73-62 Victory over Lady Vols Basketball
Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) defeated the Lady Vols basketball team 73-62, marking coach Kellie Harper's first loss to an in-state opponent in 16 games. MTSU's Jalynn Gregory scored a team-high 22 points, including five 3-pointers, while MTSU outshot Tennessee from behind the arc. Tennessee was without star forward Rickea Jackson and junior forward Jillian Hollingshead. MTSU swung the momentum in their favor with an 8-0 run before halftime and dominated the rebounding battle. Tennessee's Karoline Striplin had a career-high 29 points, but no other Lady Vols scored in double figures.
