Writers Guild Leader Predicts Studios' Collective or Individual Deals

The Writers Guild of America's negotiating committee co-chair, Chris Keyser, has called on studios and streamers to return to the bargaining table and find a solution to the ongoing labor standoff. Keyser emphasized that writers are not the enemy but partners and the industry's greatest asset. He urged companies to envision a solution rather than a stalemate, highlighting the simultaneous strikes by two unions as evidence that the current business model is not working. Keyser suggested that Hollywood companies may come back to the union either together or separately, and he criticized the tactics of threatening to starve writers out. The WGA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers have not yet resumed negotiations, with the WGA leaders stating that it is up to the AMPTP to make the first move.
